Vice President
A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Ms. Angel has lived in the piedmont
of North Carolina most of her life. She has degrees from both Guilford
College (AB in Economics) and University of North Carolina-Greensboro
(Masters of Science - Business Education).
Her career has spanned the gamut from full-time mother, instructor
at the local community college, developer and manager of computer-related
technical training for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, owner of her
own computer training company for thirteen years, and now author,
college professor, and speaker.
Ms. Angel has a long history with entrepreneurship. She founded her
own software training company, Technologies Training in 1986 in Winston-Salem,
NC. She has a rich experience in the computer industry, and is a dynamic
nationally known speaker with engagement credit from Coast to Coast.
She is a noted authority on Adult Learning Theory and its application
to computer training.
Ann has been an integral part of the the growth of small business
in the Piedmont Triad for many years. She has served as the Chair
of the Small Business Council of the Winston-Salem Chamber and on
the Chamber's full Board. Ann was named Small Business Advocate of
the Year by the Chamber in 1994, served as a delegate to the 1995
White House Conference on Small Business in Washington, D.C., and
Human Capital Issue Chair for the 1997 Governor's Conference on Small
Business. She served as President of the Piedmont Entrepreneur Network
in 1994 and on the Board for seven years.
In 2000, Ms. Angel sold her training business and has devoted her
time to writing and speaking. She has been published in many newspapers
and publications mostly concerned with the computer training industry.
She published her first book in 2000; this book, Calculated Risk Taking,
focuses on making difficult life transitions. In recent years she
joined her husband, Clyde Parker, on the podium doing a workshop on
gender communications called, "Now That Ain't What I Said!" Her
southern style of delivery and sense of humor has given her good feedback
from her audiences.
